Scrapers are needed for most conditions. Wet, sticky soil sticks to concave discs and makes them cut less well. Scrapers remove this buildup as the harrow works. Without them, you must stop often to clear mud by hand. This wastes time and slows your work.

How Do I Sharpen Dull Disc Blades?

Use an angle grinder for small nicks and light dulling. Take off badly worn blades and replace them. Sharp blades cut through leftovers and break up soil well. Dull blades push soil aside and waste tractor power. Check blade edges before each season.
